Summary: They say that when there is nothing but dark all around, go into the light. And they are right, most of the time. That is, as long as that light isn't an incoming train, a fire, or a cycloptic demon trying to drain your essence.

History: No one really knows where these subterranean demons came from, but we do know that one has haunted the Knox household somewhere in the country. Then one day, the beast was successful in abducting Annie Knox's daughter, while she was framed for murder. The monster's needs were simple. Drag the girl to its underground lair, drain her of all her energy as he had been doing to many others, and toss her shriveled corpse into one of many odd pools. Naturally, Annie is quick to escape custody and try and rescue her with some help.

Notable Kills: We see one not drained, but burnt by the demon's powers. It's not pretty at all.

Final Fate: Annie is successful in rescuing her daughter, and right before the demon can drain her instead, she takes a taser to its head, hurting it for enough time so that the mother and child can escape and burn the house to the ground. The horrible being dies screaming in the flames.

Powers/Abilities: With its one big eye, the demon can drain people of their energy, as well as burn them to death. It can also take a load of bullets and barely flinch.

Weakness: Heavy artillery.

Scariness Factor: 4-Aside from this thing's downright hideous appearance and horrific shrieking, this thing is an ideal boogeyman. It'll either steal your soul, burn you skin off, or tear you to shreds with its needle-like teeth. The moment you see that bulbous light heading your way, don't look into it. Just fight or run.

Trivia: -Ironically, the demon's actor, Weston Meredith, has had a bigger career in works made for children. Go tell one of the kids he works with that he was a child-abducting monster and see what happens. Or, you know, don't be a jerk and keep that to yourself.

-This film was directed by Padraig Reynolds, who had also done 2011's "Rites of Spring", which was also a rural horror film, albeit one that focused on a supernatural serial killer known as Wormface.
